The throw-in from Manuel Murillo in the 17th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by ▓M▓A▓R▓G▓U▓N▓'s Marcos Batista. When Emiliano Henriguez fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ▓M▓A▓R▓G▓U▓N▓'s protests and gave Emiliano Henriguez a yellow card for diving instead. If Alex Jaen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Isla Caña F.C.'s zone, Moisés De Gracia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sergio Peren came out of the goal and Moisés De Gracia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, ▓M▓A▓R▓G▓U▓N▓'s Wiliam Escalona got a free kick in the 27th minute. After having played for 28 minutes, Totin Castillero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Isla Caña F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Totin Castillero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. ▓M▓A▓R▓G▓U▓N▓'s Marin Bercea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Gómez in the 29th minute of play. Marcos Gómez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marin Bercea having to interfere. Isla Caña F.C.'s Totin Castillero got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alex Jaen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alex Jaen made a kick off. Sergio Peren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moisés De Gracia, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind ▓M▓A▓R▓G▓U▓N▓'s goalkeeper Marin Bercea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, ▓M▓A▓R▓G▓U▓N▓'s Marin Bercea got control of the ball when Totin Castillero tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sergio Peren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emiliano Henriguez in the 64th minute of the match. 65 minutes into the game, Cesar Fernandez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Isla Caña F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ▓M▓A▓R▓G▓U▓N▓ the free kick. The supporters of ▓M▓A▓R▓G▓U▓N▓ booed when Isla Caña F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesar Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Isla Caña F.C.'s Manuel Murillo got a free kick in the 67th minute. Alex Jaen scored 2-1 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sergio Peren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 82nd minute, Alex Jaen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The ▓M▓A▓R▓G▓U▓N▓ fans cheered their team off the field, for while Isla Caña F.C. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
