Los Algarrobos's Américo Morales played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franklin Benavides in the 3rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Los Algarrobos defense, Giancarlo Rios kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Américo Morales. The Los Algarrobos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Américo Morales should have stopped the shot. After 7 minutes, Giancarlo Rios made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Los Algarrobos's Américo Morales tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Los Algarrobos's Manuel Pimentel got a free kick in the 11th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Los Algarrobos's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Peralta came free, but Américo Morales reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Calito Herrera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romel Briceño in the 14th minute of play. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Los Algarrobos's goalkeeper Américo Morales, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luchito De Paredes kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. If Giancarlo Rios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Eloy Escalona managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chepo F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Eloy Escalona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Américo Morales breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 38 played minutes Chepo F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Giancarlo Rios. The audience was convinced that Giancarlo Rios's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Américo Morales was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Romel Briceño stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Juan Navarro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Los Algarrobos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chepo F.C. the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 51st minute of the game. One of Los Algarrobos:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Chepo F.C.:s goal. In the 52nd minute there was a penalty for Chepo F.C.. Miguel Peralta stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Américo Morales. 1-5. The supporters of Chepo F.C. booed when Los Algarrobos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcos Garcia De Paredes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57thth minute of the game Eloy Escalona who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Algarrobos's Américo Morales was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Giancarlo Rios sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 60 minutes, Eloy Escalona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chepo F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Eloy Escalona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 66th minute, Lucho Moreno left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Los Algarrobos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-5. With his leg Américo Morales managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when Chepo F.C.'s Giancarlo Rios fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Eloy Escalona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Giancarlo Rios sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Franklin Benavides was extremely unlucky when he, in the 80th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Américo Morales took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franklin Benavides, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 88 minutes into the match, Los Algarrobos's goal looked a bit too open when Eloy Escalona came free, but Américo Morales reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 90 minutes into the game, Chepo F.C.'s Giancarlo Rios nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Américo Morales made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-6.
