After having played for 26 minutes, Rodríguez Basterra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Liga de Quito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodríguez Basterra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Octavio Dineros charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Zelipe Cela was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Felix Faes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paiva Melgosa in the 44th minute of play forced Liga de Quito's goalkeeper Zelipe Cela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Huaringa SC booed when Liga de Quito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victorino Sanles didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Victorino Sanles fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
