Santiago Melgar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Cardiel having to interfere. The supporters of Sköll F.C. booed when Independiente de Quito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Neicer Fontanes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Zorion Figueras managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sköll F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Zorion Figueras was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelo Cardiel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ubendu Carreiras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 16 minutes, Jurand Tarasek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independiente de Quito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jurand Tarasek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Uhin Urguia charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Uhin Urguia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 18th minute, Uhin Urguia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 20th play minutes Jurand Tarasek shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Camilo Escarraz and just under the crossbar into goal. Marcelo Cardiel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santiago Melgar in the 28th minute of play. A collision led to Sköll F.C. getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Perez Liendo hit a great ball. 31 minutes into the match, Sköll F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Jurand Tarasek came free, but Camilo Escarraz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Independiente de Quito getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Romário Caicedo hit a great ball. Camilo Escarraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neicer Fontanes, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Santiago Melgar kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jurand Tarasek in the 41st minute of play forced Sköll F.C.'s goalkeeper Camilo Escarraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Camilo Escarraz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ubendu Carreiras went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. When Ubendu Carreiras came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Independiente de Quito fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ubendu Carreiras couldn't finish the play. After the first half Independiente de Quito were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

60 minutes into the match, Sköll F.C.'s goalkeeper Camilo Escarraz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frutos Ceja. In the 61st minute, Santiago Melgar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Camilo Escarraz came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Independiente de Quito's Jurand Tarasek. But to his dismay, Jurand Tarasek quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Camilo Escarraz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ubendu Carreiras in the 67th minute of the match. Camilo Escarraz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jurand Tarasek in the 70th minute of play. In the 72nd minute Ubendu Carreiras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Escarraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Camilo Escarraz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jurand Tarasek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jurand Tarasek got free with Camilo Escarraz in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 77th minute, Ubendu Carreiras reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Camilo Escarraz. The goal made the score 0-6. Ubendu Carreiras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camilo Escarraz having to interfere. Independiente de Quito's Justavino Gaztelumendi got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 89 minutes of play, Independiente de Quito's Ubendu Carreiras made it 0-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Camilo Escarraz was left in no man's land by his defense there! 92 minutes into the match, Sköll F.C.'s goalkeeper Camilo Escarraz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ubendu Carreiras. Justavino Gaztelumendi scored 0-9 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Camilo Escarraz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match was over Independiente de Quito could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sköll F.C. throughout the match.
