Spectators: 8001 (Terracing: 6009, Seating: 1842, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Marcelo Alcubilla started the match with the kick off. Xines Teran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger Moldes having to interfere. 7 minutes into the game, Víctor Olaverrieta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Peter Portochao was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Chuboli SC fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when Chuboli SC's Asencio Palou looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With an all-out effort, Sociedad Deportiva León's Roger Moldes threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marcelo Alcubilla, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 19 played minutes Chuboli SC got a freekick which was hit by Marcelino Soret. Marcelo Alcubilla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Xavier Antuñano hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. If Marcelo Alcubilla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Asencio Palou in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Peter Portochao saved Sociedad Deportiva León from getting behind. Víctor Olaverrieta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot by Tomas Garviras from long distance, 35 minutes into the match, got Roger Moldes's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Through an outstanding action, after 37 minutes, Roger Moldes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 43 minutes into the match, Chuboli SC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Alcubilla came free, but Roger Moldes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Kléber Londoño fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sociedad Deportiva León's protests and gave Kléber Londoño a yellow card for diving instead. In the 48th minute there was a penalty for Chuboli SC. Marco Salmeron stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Peter Portochao. 0-3. After the first half Chuboli SC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Asencio Palou stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Chuboli SC got a freekick which was hit by Asencio Palou. When Xines Teran came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Sociedad Deportiva León fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xines Teran couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Norberto Archuleta during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sociedad Deportiva León's Norberto Archuleta got a free kick in the 61st minute. Peter Portochao made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Víctor Olaverrieta sent off a good shot on target. If Marcelo Alcubilla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Xzaiver Argandona hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Chuboli SC's Asencio Palou was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 69th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Roger Moldes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xines Teran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th minute Marcelo Alcubilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roger Moldes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sociedad Deportiva León's Kléber Londoño got a free kick in the 89th minute. Peter Portochao made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marco Salmeron in the 90th minute. After 92 minutes of play, Sociedad Deportiva León's Marcelo Alcubilla made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roger Moldes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Chuboli SC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
