Spectators: 7968 (Terracing: 5977, Seating: 1833, VIP seats: 158) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ignacio Varaona started the match with the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Xian Cerrabe during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Xian Cerrabe hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. The supporters of CAIW booed when Sociedad Deportiva León was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kléber Londoño didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gutierrez Cantolla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Peter Portochao read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Sociedad Deportiva León's Peter Portochao played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgardo Revillas in the 12th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norberto Archuleta in the 13th minute of play forced CAIW's goalkeeper Celso Monjo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. CAIW's Celso Monjo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xines Teran in the 15th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sociedad Deportiva León's Norberto Archuleta got a free kick in the 19th minute. After 21 played minutes Sociedad Deportiva León got a freekick which was hit by Kléber Londoño. 22 minutes into the match, Sociedad Deportiva León's goal looked a bit too open when Ignacio Varaona came free, but Peter Portochao reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xian Buisante took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Peter Portochao. Peter Portochao dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After recieving a nice pass, Sociedad Deportiva León's Kléber Londoño tried to score from far away in the 30th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Peter Portochao made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Gutierrez Cantolla sent off a good shot on target. Norberto Archuleta hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. During the 44th minute of the match Xian Cerrabe completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Xian Cerrabe a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. If Norberto Archuleta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcelo Alcubilla stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Celso Monjo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xzaiver Argandona in the 53rd minute of play. Marcelo Alcubilla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celso Monjo having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, CAIW's Gutierrez Cantolla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Peter Portochao narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Xzaiver Argandona fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sociedad Deportiva León's protests and gave Xzaiver Argandona a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of CAIW booed when Sociedad Deportiva León was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xzaiver Argandona didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xzaiver Argandona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celso Monjo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. 64 minutes into the game, Xines Teran cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Celso Monjo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marcelo Alcubilla's late challenge caught a CAIW's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcelo Alcubilla helped the player get up and apologised. In the 69th match minute, Sociedad Deportiva León was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Alcubilla to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, CAIW's Zacarias Villafafila got a free kick in the 70th minute. Celso Monjo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xzaiver Argandona in the 74th minute of play. Celso Monjo made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Norberto Archuleta sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Sociedad Deportiva León getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Xzaiver Argandona hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Sociedad Deportiva León's Norberto Archuleta got a free kick in the 86th minute. CAIW's Celso Monjo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Alcubilla in the 88th minute of play. CAIW's Xian Buisante got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Xines Teran could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Celso Monjo made a huge save. Norberto Archuleta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celso Monjo having to interfere. Sociedad Deportiva León's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
