Jeremias Gamiz might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yoelvis Pereta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jeremias Gamiz ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Huayquichuma FC's zone, Marcelo Remolina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franco Rello came out of the goal and Marcelo Remolina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of UD Zoo booed when Huayquichuma FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cántaro Cedeno didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcelo Remolina in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Franco Rello saved Huayquichuma FC from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Huayquichuma FC's Xavier Bayas got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Yoelvis Pereta made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Jeremias Gamiz sent off a good shot on target. Joel Bujan's late challenge caught a Huayquichuma FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edison Gaviria was the one to do the kick off. After 55 played minutes, Huayquichuma FC's Zorion Prats shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Yoelvis Pereta came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Huayquichuma FC reached it. Héctor Iza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Franco Rello made a huge save. 66 minutes into the game, Ysidro Osas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. UD Zoo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Huayquichuma FC the free kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Héctor Iza got free with Franco Rello in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Héctor Iza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 88th minute, Marcelo Remolina got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
