The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Guayacanes Fútbol Club getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Texeira Creus hit a great ball. Marcelino Ciscal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Quiñones in the 8th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitor Gadañon in the 20th minute of play forced Voltaje FC's goalkeeper Oso Figueruela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yoelvis Bierna kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Santos Valdivieso in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oso Figueruela saved Voltaje FC from getting behind. A collision led to Voltaje FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Uxio Mescua hit a great ball. Oso Figueruela made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Juan-Alfredo Villabel sent off a good shot on target. In the 28th minute of the match, Esterilla Nurueña got a very nice opportunity to score, but Oso Figueruela was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Marcelino Ciscal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yoelvis Bierna in the 29th minute of the match. Guayacanes Fútbol Club's Santos Valdivieso got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Yoelvis Bierna came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Voltaje FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yoelvis Bierna couldn't finish the play. In the 38th match minute, Voltaje FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lorenzo Balanza to maneuver through the defense. In the 40th minute of the match Juan-Alfredo Villabel sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Oso Figueruela skillfully saved the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Guayacanes Fútbol Club's Santos Valdivieso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oso Figueruela narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

If Yoelvis Bierna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marcelino Ciscal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yoelvis Bierna, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. The supporters of Voltaje FC booed when Guayacanes Fútbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitor Gadañon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zxavian Donis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marcelino Ciscal. Guayacanes Fútbol Club's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Yoelvis Bierna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Marcelino Ciscal made a huge save. Yoelvis Bierna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcelino Ciscal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Guayacanes Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Marcelino Ciscal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yoelvis Bierna. Klimovich Olivera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle sounded Voltaje FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Guayacanes Fútbol Club.
