Spectators: 8477 (Terracing: 6359, Seating: 1949, VIP seats: 169) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ismael Larrategui started the match with the kick off. Ismael Larrategui blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Monge Lima having to make a save. Monge Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Larrategui in the 8th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ismael Larrategui in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Monge Lima prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Ismael Larrategui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hendrik van Eijnde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santiago Sedeño, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Valentine Corias had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Monge Lima. Sal Rom F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valentine Corias was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ismael Larrategui in the 20th minute of play forced Sal Rom F.C.'s goalkeeper Monge Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hincha Pelotas FC's Ismael Larrategui got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ismael Larrategui sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 33 minutes into the match, Ismael Larrategui had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Monge Lima. Sal Rom F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ismael Larrategui was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Monge Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ismael Larrategui, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hincha Pelotas FC's Alvarez Pierredonda suffered a concussion after 41 minutes and had to leave the field. Mane Morentin's late challenge caught a Hincha Pelotas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mane Morentin helped the player get up and apologised. Ismael Larrategui recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Santiago Sedeño to make the kick off. When Candelario Cortina came up free with the goalie in the 50th minute, the Hincha Pelotas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Candelario Cortina couldn't finish the play. If Ismael Larrategui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Xantalen Peinado kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After 55 played minutes Ismael Larrategui rounded Sal Rom F.C.'s defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valentine Corias got free with Monge Lima in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 60th minute, Xurdin Rendon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Hincha Pelotas FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Roman Zornoza hit a great ball. In the 67th minute, Hincha Pelotas FC's Ismael Larrategui ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Monge Lima. Monge Lima yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. After having played for 70 minutes, Valentine Corias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hincha Pelotas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valentine Corias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hincha Pelotas FC's Hendrik van Eijnde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xantalen Peinado in the 71st minute of play. Ismael Larrategui received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Monge Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Monge Lima stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ismael Larrategui's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Sal Rom F.C.'s zone, Ismael Larrategui stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Monge Lima came out of the goal and Ismael Larrategui tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 91 minutes into the match, Ismael Larrategui dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Monge Lima, 0-6. Valentine Corias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
