Fernando Pellons short, quick shot in the 6thth minute got Juaneizu Lizana to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Cipriano Acebo fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mones FC's protests and gave Cipriano Acebo a yellow card for diving instead. If Fernando Pellon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fernando Pellon got free with Juaneizu Lizana in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dalmu Toyos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Napier Villarreal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. After 15 played minutes Agustin Valenciaga rounded Mones FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0.
