Santos Manjaleguas charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Santos Manjaleguas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 16th match minute, Pasanaca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Santos Manjaleguas to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute, Celso Almazan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Zapatero fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Maties Vara was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 26th minute. Zapatero's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maties Vara in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Damaso Urdaspal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Pasanaca's zone, Celso Almazan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damaso Urdaspal came out of the goal and Celso Almazan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Santos Manjaleguas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Norberto Sabando kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. When Gaufred Socorro fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zapatero's protests and gave Gaufred Socorro a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Pasanaca booed when Zapatero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaufred Socorro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Beltxe Trabado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mel Grillo having to interfere. Damaso Urdaspal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maties Vara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
