The referee showed Norberto Sabando the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 23rd match minute, Zapatero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norberto Sabando to maneuver through the defense. Mel Grillo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claudinei Carbonell in the 24th minute. Vitor Dobale helped the player get up and apologised. 46 minutes into the game, one of Santa Fe:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.

If Celso Almazan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Galtero Eguizabal made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Celso Almazan sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Santa Fe's Lorenz Escandàn got a free kick in the 60th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Zapatero's Maties Vara slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Galtero Eguizabal. That made the score 0-2 after 62 minutes of play. When Zapatero's Maties Vara in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Santa Fe's goalie prevented a goal. Leonel Baldes hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Santa Fe's Galtero Eguizabal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Santa Fe from getting a goal against them. In the 75th minute, Maties Vara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Galtero Eguizabal was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Galtero Eguizabal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maties Vara in the 83rd minute of play. Norberto Sabando recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Santa Fe were furious when Naelio Vazan was red carded, 89 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 88 minutes into the game, one of Santa Fe:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Celso Almazan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maties Vara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Claudinei Carbonell blasted a shot towards the goal in the 100th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mel Grillo having to make a save.
