Without hesitation aimed to the right of Pello Geras, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ricardo Leal hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute of the match Jeronimo Ageitos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Niceto Zaloña skillfully saved the ball. Atlético Nacional's Pello Geras proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Nacional from getting a goal against them. After having played for 20 minutes, Felo Montoia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Kennedy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felo Montoia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 22 minutes into the match, Deportivo Kennedy's Berto Sanabre sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pello Geras narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Roano Fondos's late challenge caught a Deportivo Kennedy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 24th minute, Orlondo Aza fired a really elegant long shot, but Pello Geras threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. After 28 played minutes, Deportivo Kennedy's Sesuldo Paradelo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pello Geras came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Deportivo Kennedy reached it. Pello Geras was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Sesuldo Paradelo. Felo Montoia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pello Geras having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Deportivo Kennedy's Xavion Morga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pello Geras narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Deportivo Kennedy booed when Atlético Nacional was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Misael Forcen didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joao Noriega was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Berto Sanabre's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pello Geras was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Felo Montoia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Kennedy's supporters rose to their feet, but Felo Montoia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pello Geras breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Atlético Nacional's Pello Geras played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calvino Zumiel in the 69th minute of play. Pello Geras came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Kennedy's Berto Sanabre. But to his dismay, Berto Sanabre quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Pello Geras showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Calvino Zumiel in the 74th minute of the match. A collision led to Deportivo Kennedy getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Berto Sanabre hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Berto Sanabre in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pello Geras prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 79th minute Berto Sanabre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pello Geras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Berto Sanabre in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pello Geras prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Deportivo Kennedy's Berto Sanabre in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
