When Montxo Villar came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Zamora FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Montxo Villar couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Upata FC's Ivan Loginov got a free kick in the 41st minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Montxo Villar made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Narciso Gort took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Julio Retortillo to make any attempt to save it. In the 61st minute Narciso Gort shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Retortillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mero Zorrilla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Retortillo having to interfere. Montxo Villar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Gaudencio Aimar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zamora FC's Julio Retortillo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Zamora FC from getting a goal against them. Mero Zorrilla blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Retortillo having to make a save. Upata FC's Primeiro Burbua was substituted for Mero Zorrilla. If Primeiro Burbua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute, Narciso Gort fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When the match was over Upata FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Zamora FC throughout the match.
