The Zulia Caracas F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Galo Caroll should have stopped the shot. Galo Caroll made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. The Zulia Caracas F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Deportivo San Cristóbal were winning 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Porfiro Idiaquez made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Zulia Caracas F.C.'s zone, Dabi Temes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Galo Caroll came out of the goal and Dabi Temes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Zulia Caracas F.C. getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Karmel Alaniz hit a great ball. Galo Caroll showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerrold Golmayo in the 57th minute of the match. Karmel Alaniz's late challenge caught a Deportivo San Cristóbal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Karmel Alaniz helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Zulia Caracas F.C. getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Karmel Alaniz hit a great ball. In the 60th minute of the match Deportivo San Cristóbal got a corner. Zulia Caracas F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Osvaldo Saer ran over to the corner to take the kick.
