The referee ignored Llaneros's protests and gave Guillelmus Llain a yellow card for diving instead. Guillelmus Llain hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Baldomiro Arrizabalaga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horacio Naredo having to interfere. Ostots Pascual recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Horacio Naredo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ostots Pascual, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ostots Pascual in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Horacio Naredo saved Llaneros from getting behind. Llaneros's Horacio Naredo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ostots Pascual in the 24th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ostots Pascual to strike the kick off in the second half. Horacio Naredo made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Ostots Pascual sent off a good shot on target. After 53 played minutes CA Guarenas got a freekick which was hit by Salvator Villalaud. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Palos Guillemez during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 55 played minutes, Llaneros's Guillelmus Llain shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fernandez Lascano came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Llaneros reached it. 57 minutes into the game, Benedicto Alfaro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Llaneros's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CA Guarenas the free kick. Remigio Donallo's late challenge caught a CA Guarenas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Remigio Donallo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of CA Guarenas booed when Llaneros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remigio Donallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 91st minute, Baldomiro Arrizabalaga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 96 played minutes Llaneros got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Rotalo. CA Guarenas were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
