A collision led to Mahomito getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Benicio Riega hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Sebastiani in the 8th minute of play forced Mahomito's goalkeeper Xavon Valenciaga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Mahomito's goalie and right to Xuan Amaya. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Mahomito's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 15th match minute, Venegas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan-Alfredo Alberdi to maneuver through the defense. 21 minutes into the game, Flavio Sebastiani cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Xavon Valenciaga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 24 played minutes Venegas got a freekick which was hit by Dennis Rommedahl. Donato Encia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bras Pico, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xuan Amaya hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Naike Bradi got free with Donato Encia in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 31 played minutes Venegas got a freekick which was hit by Izotz Laures. Omar Arango charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Omar Arango the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Mahomito getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Omar Arango hit a great ball. Donato Encia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bras Pico, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. 43 minutes into the match, Venegas's goalkeeper Donato Encia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Naike Bradi. Naike Bradi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Donato Encia made a huge save. If Bras Pico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute Omar Arango shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donato Encia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bras Pico stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Mahomito's goal looked a bit too open when Xuan Amaya came free, but Xavon Valenciaga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 55 minutes, Joaquin Gallinas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mahomito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joaquin Gallinas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Donato Encia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bras Pico, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. 95 minutes into the match, Venegas's goal looked a bit too open when Bras Pico came free, but Donato Encia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Izotz Laures fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venegas's protests and gave Izotz Laures a yellow card for diving instead. The Mahomito supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Venegas's performance. The match ended with a win for Venegas.
