Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Henrique Velloso was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Anders Gade in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Alianza FC's Anders Gade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anastasios Machlas in the 11th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Alianza FC's Tristan Franquis threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marin Ciprian, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jonny Murray hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. The supporters of Imperio Catatumbo de Lara booed when Alianza FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Prats didn't get a good kick on the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Henrique Velloso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Anders Gade narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jonny Murray kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Alianza FC's Benedicto Gayferos quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Mantzio Poz, made in the 18th minute of the game. If Liu Liang Gang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tristan Franquis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cordara Herbon in the 24th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Alianza FC's Cordara Herbon slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tristan Franquis. That made the score 1-0 after 24 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mantzio Poz in the 33rd minute of play forced Alianza FC's goalkeeper Anders Gade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Charis Banos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anders Gade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Senio Opazo in the 37th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mantzio Poz in the 38th minute of play forced Alianza FC's goalkeeper Anders Gade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Anastasios Machlas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Senio Opazo came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Imperio Catatumbo de Lara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Senio Opazo couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anastasios Machlas to make the kick off. Cordara Herbon hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Anders Gade made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Anastasios Machlas sent off a good shot on target. In the 61st match minute, Alianza FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedicto Gayferos to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mantzio Poz got free with Anders Gade in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 66 minutes into the match, Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's goal looked a bit too open when Cordara Herbon came free, but Tristan Franquis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, Cordara Herbon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tristan Franquis was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Alianza FC's goalkeeper Anders Gade, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 76 minutes into the match, Alianza FC's goalkeeper Anders Gade had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ben Breton. After a rather tough play, Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Alberino Salgado got a free kick in the 77th minute. Alianza FC made a substitution. César Domingues replaced Marin Ciprian. Alberino Salgado hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. When Antonio Prats fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Tristan Franquis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from César Domingues in the 94th minute of the match. Anders Gade didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberino Salgado went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score.
