Stacy Frye who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 14thth minute tested the skills of Benny Courtney when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Andre Spangler scored 0-2 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Loren Dill, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Claude Veltman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Claude Veltman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chadbourn's Loren Dill played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andre Spangler in the 29th minute of play. Houston Barrera made a great header on Davenport's corner, it was just that Chadbourn's Loren Dill managed to reach the ball for a save. Keenan Stephens hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. If Stacy Frye had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Davenport were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Andre Spangler made a kick off. Chadbourn's Graig Sheldon suffered a sprained foot after 51 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Rodney Earl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Benny Courtney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 59 played minutes Chadbourn got a freekick which was hit by Len Hendricks. If Vincenzo Cochran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Loren Dill made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Claude Veltman sent off a good shot on target. In the 76thth minute of the game Andre Spangler who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chadbourn's Loren Dill was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 82nd minute Stacy Frye shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benny Courtney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stacy Frye in the 85th minute of play forced Davenport's goalkeeper Benny Courtney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Stacy Frye notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Davenport's Benny Courtney. Benny Courtney was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
