With an extended leg and a bit of luck Davis Goldman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 6 minutes into the match, Carle Place's goalkeeper Franklin Sapp had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Salvatore Carlton. Terry DeJesus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Franklin Sapp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th minute, Devon Knox left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Carle Place fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Vern Gibbons received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Davis Goldman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Terry DeJesus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute.
