Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Victor Cooley made the kick off which started today's match. 3 minutes into the match, Gainesville's goalkeeper Davis Guzman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wilfred Traylor. The audience was convinced that Randolph Hairston's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jay McNeil was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Palm City AFC's Jackson Epps got a free kick in the 8th minute. Randolph Hairston recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Davis Guzman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hank Horne, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. When Kasey Carrey fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palm City AFC's protests and gave Kasey Carrey a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th minute, Kasey Carrey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Gainesville's Wallace Newman got a free kick in the 18th minute. Davis Guzman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hank Horne in the 22nd minute of the match. Joesph Roman charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joesph Roman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Gainesville's Joesph Roman got a free kick in the 26th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hank Horne in the 29th minute of play forced Gainesville's goalkeeper Davis Guzman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd match minute, Palm City AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jackson Epps to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, Palm City AFC's Davis Guzman threw himself towards the right post 36 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hank Horne, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Davis Guzman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hank Horne in the 40th minute of play. Randolph Hairston received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Jay McNeil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilfred Traylor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Davis Guzman made a huge save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hank Horne was the one to do the kick off. Randolph Hairston sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hank Horne recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hank Horne blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Davis Guzman having to make a save. A collision led to Palm City AFC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Scott Navarro hit a great ball. Benedict Randolph missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 67 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Jay McNeil right hand side. Jackson Epps received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Davis Guzman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jay McNeil made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Randolph Hairston sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Gainesville's zone, Hank Horne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Davis Guzman came out of the goal and Hank Horne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dante Hutton during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dante Hutton hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Paul Gagne took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 77th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Davis Guzman. Gainesville's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Hank Horne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute, Victor Cooley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 0-1 became the score in the 86th minute when Randolph Hairston elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Victor Cooley blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jay McNeil having to make a save. Hank Horne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Randolph Hairston got free with Jay McNeil in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Gainesville eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
