Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Kerry Dickey started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After 5 played minutes Flagstaff got a freekick which was hit by Wallace Wooten. Clint Blount struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Dana Duncan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for St. James FC. After a defensive mix-up in St. James FC's zone, Wallace Wooten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pete Costello came out of the goal and Wallace Wooten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 11th minute, Daryl Swanson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hayden Steward struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Pete Costello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Flagstaff. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hayden Steward in the 16th minute of play forced St. James FC's goalkeeper Pete Costello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. St. James FC's Pete Costello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hayden Steward in the 20th minute of play. Deshawn Bravo struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Pete Costello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Flagstaff. After a rather tough play, Flagstaff's Deshawn Bravo got a free kick in the 29th minute. 30 minutes into the match, St. James FC's Clint Blount broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. Daryl Swanson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dana Duncan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. In the 46th minute, Wallace Wooten ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pete Costello was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The St. James FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Flagstaff were winning 0-1.

After 55 played minutes St. James FC got a freekick which was hit by Daryl Swanson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hayden Steward in the 58th minute of play forced St. James FC's goalkeeper Pete Costello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Clint Blount fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dana Duncan having to interfere. Dana Duncan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kerry Dickey in the 68th minute of play. The supporters of St. James FC booed when Flagstaff was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Don Wallace didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in St. James FC's zone, Wallace Wooten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pete Costello came out of the goal and Wallace Wooten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With an all-out effort, Flagstaff's Pete Costello threw himself towards the right post 73 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hayden Steward, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 74 minutes St. James FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was William Hammer who took care of the corner kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Hayden Steward managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flagstaff's supporters rose to their feet, but Hayden Steward was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pete Costello breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Daryl Swanson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. After 85 played minutes St. James FC got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Hadley. In the 95th minute Clint Blount shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dana Duncan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flagstaff played a much better game than St. James FC and deserved their victory. The St. James FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
