Dylan Grove made an important save on a dangerous shot by Freddy Blount in the 18th minute. In the 21st minute, Kristofer Donnelly got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Freddy Blount sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 27 minutes into the match, Rutherfordton's goalkeeper Dylan Grove had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kristofer Donnelly. After a defensive mix-up in Rutherfordton's zone, Freddy Blount stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dylan Grove came out of the goal and Freddy Blount tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th minute, Freddy Blount fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Freddy Blount struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Dylan Grove didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pitcairn. Freddy Blount who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Dylan Grove when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 40th minute of the match, Freddy Blount tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dylan Grove saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The nice shot from Kristofer Donnelly in the 44thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Dylan Grove had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Dylan Grove made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddy Blount in the 45th minute of play. If Kristofer Donnelly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
The wind increased when Freddy Blount made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Rutherfordton's goal looked a bit too open when Freddy Blount came free, but Dylan Grove reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 55 minutes into the game, Pitcairn's Freddy Blount nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dylan Grove made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Dylan Grove showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristofer Donnelly, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Len Finley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 66 played minutes Rutherfordton got a freekick which was hit by Nicholas Jefferson. Jessie Skaggs charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jessie Skaggs the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Rutherfordton booed when Pitcairn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jessie Skaggs didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 74 minutes of play Pitcairn's Jessie Skaggs was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Rutherfordton's Justin Gauthier got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Kristofer Donnelly came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Pitcairn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kristofer Donnelly couldn't finish the play. Theodore Wilkerson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dylan Grove having to interfere. 84 minutes into the match, Kristofer Donnelly had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dylan Grove. Rutherfordton's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kristofer Donnelly was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. After having played for 88 minutes, Freddy Blount managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pitcairn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Freddy Blount was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kristofer Donnelly received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Dylan Grove tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
