When Alex Pulliam fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alachua's protests and gave Alex Pulliam a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Alachua fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 3rd minute. Penalty! The referee gave Pottsgrove a penalty, 5 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Warner Flint, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Alachua's Darell Ingram. 0-1. 15 minutes into the match, Alachua's goal looked a bit too open when Kent Horner came free, but Darell Ingram reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute, Erik Barrera ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Darell Ingram was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Milan Clement received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Rufus Spicer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. From close distance Milan Clement pressed in the 2-2 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 27 minutes into the game. 29 minutes into the game, Kent Horner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pottsgrove's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alachua the free kick. A collision led to Pottsgrove getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Kent Horner hit a great ball. Winston Dunn struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Darell Ingram didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pottsgrove. Milan Clement received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Rufus Spicer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Alachua booed when Pottsgrove was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francis Willoughby didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute, Milan Clement got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Chris Page came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Alachua fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chris Page couldn't finish the play. Pottsgrove's defense didn't have a chance, in the 45th minute, when Milan Clement scored to the left of an out of position Rufus Spicer, making the score, 3-2. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Winston Dunn was the one to do the kick off. If Milan Clement had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th match minute, Alachua was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Pulliam to maneuver through the defense. After 61 played minutes Pottsgrove got a freekick which was hit by Kent Horner. Chris Page succeeded in the game's 64th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 4-3. In the 68th minute, Chris Page ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rufus Spicer was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-3. When Alex Pulliam came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Alachua fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alex Pulliam couldn't finish the play. 81 minutes into the match, Pottsgrove's goal looked a bit too open when Milan Clement came free, but Rufus Spicer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rufus Spicer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chris Page, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Alachua fans cheered their team off the field, for while Pottsgrove had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
