In the 19th play minute Marlon Stephenson came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Sterling House. 1-0. Romanguaça FC's Monte Healy got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Houston Rockets getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Lenny Lehman hit a great ball. 36 minutes into the match, Troy Mitchell notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Romanguaça FC's Richie Timmons. Richie Timmons was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 44th minute, Ivan Kerns hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Houston Rockets's Sterling House played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monte Healy in the 46th minute of play. In the 47th match minute, Romanguaça FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfred Clements to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Stephan Houston made in the 54th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Romanguaça FC's Kory Buddle. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Troy Mitchell in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Richie Timmons prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 61st minute, Troy Mitchell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 62 minutes into the match, Monte Healy had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sterling House. Houston Rockets's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Monte Healy was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Richie Timmons showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bennett Phillips, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In the 71st minute, Marlon Stephenson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Troy Mitchell who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Richie Timmons when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Sterling House showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monte Healy, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Lenny Lehman kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Bennett Phillips recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Troy Mitchell in the 93rd minute of play forced Romanguaça FC's goalkeeper Richie Timmons to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There was no doubt that Romanguaça FC were the better team. Romanguaça FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
