Seating: 1791, VIP seats: 155) Dalton Osborn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thurman Dodson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dalton Osborn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Frederick, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 13th minute, Roy Felix got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thurman Dodson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Dalton Osborn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute, Marcellus Cross ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dalton Osborn was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Sporting KC's Dalton Osborn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Frederick in the 20th minute of play. Thurman Dodson took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dalton Osborn. Dalton Osborn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 27 minutes into the match, Martin Frederick had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dalton Osborn. Sporting KC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Martin Frederick was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After 29 minutes, Dane Keenan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sporting KC and the Connecticut FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sporting KC's Dane Keenan got a free kick in the 29th minute. Roy Felix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shayne Herrera having to interfere. Connecticut FC's Shayne Herrera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roy Felix in the 33rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sporting KC's Dane Keenan got a free kick in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Frederick in the 36th minute of play forced Sporting KC's goalkeeper Dalton Osborn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the game, Shawn Murillo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Connecticut FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting KC the free kick. In the 42nd minute, Shawn Murillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Shayne Herrera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roy Felix, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The audience was convinced that Marcellus Cross's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dalton Osborn was relentless in the 46th minute of the game.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcellus Cross stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sonny Salazar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Shayne Herrera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sonny Salazar in the 54th minute of play forced Connecticut FC's goalkeeper Shayne Herrera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th match minute, Sporting KC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boyce Hollis to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th minute, Marcellus Cross reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dalton Osborn. The goal made the score 0-4. Thurman Dodson hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Roy Felix hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Martin Frederick blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dalton Osborn having to make a save. A hard shot 73 in the game by Marcellus Cross from a close distance when the talented Dalton Osborn managed to make a qualified save. Sporting KC's players were relieved. Shayne Herrera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roy Felix, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristobal Parnell succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-5 in the 83rd playminute. In the 86th minute, Cristobal Parnell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dalton Osborn came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Connecticut FC's Marcellus Cross. But to his dismay, Marcellus Cross quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. Connecticut FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
