Newburyport FC's Garry Arnold played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tyrone Zapata in the 15th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Newburyport FC's goal looked a bit too open when Trent Harding came free, but Garry Arnold reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tyrone Zapata was shown his second yellow card after 26 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Garry Arnold tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nathaniel Broussard made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Trent Harding reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Garry Arnold. The goal made the score 0-3. Trent Harding sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Pablo Sims got a throw-in 58 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Nathaniel Broussard. Garry Arnold was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Quintin Spaulding showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 60 minute of play. Kristofer Couch hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Trent Harding sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Trent Harding got free with Garry Arnold in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Garry Arnold made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trent Harding in the 88th minute of play. Leroy Andrade struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Raul Villalobos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newburyport FC.
