Anton Rossi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newburyport FC. In the 19th minute, Nathaniel Broussard got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 24 minutes, Leroy Andrade mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newburyport FC and the Aerovision FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Newburyport FC's Leroy Andrade got a free kick in the 24th minute. With an all-out effort, Aerovision FC's Garry Arnold threw himself towards the right post 26 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from David Cho, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 31 minutes into the game, Berry Vaughan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Anton Rossi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 36 minutes, Berry Vaughan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newburyport FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Berry Vaughan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bret Lassiter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Berry Vaughan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nathaniel Broussard took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anton Rossi. Anton Rossi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Berry Vaughan made a kick off. Nathaniel Broussard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Berry Vaughan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Anton Rossi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th minute Adalberto Boggs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garry Arnold saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bret Lassiter might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anton Rossi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bret Lassiter ran back to his position shaking his head. Newburyport FC's Bret Lassiter got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 76 minutes, Abdul Foley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newburyport FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abdul Foley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anton Rossi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Berry Vaughan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nathaniel Broussard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anton Rossi having to interfere. Anton Rossi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Berry Vaughan in the 83rd minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Newburyport FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ward Gann came free, but Garry Arnold reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Cho in the 86th minute of play forced Newburyport FC's goalkeeper Garry Arnold to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anton Rossi was a little too slow when Nathaniel Broussard got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 91st minute. The score was now 0-4. Anton Rossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leroy Andrade in the 95th minute of play. If Berry Vaughan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Aerovision FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Newburyport FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
