In the 28th minute Sherman Underwood shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blake Waite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Oren Cooley came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Memphis United FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oren Cooley couldn't finish the play. Mickey Rowland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leo Ramos having to interfere. Sherman Underwood charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sherman Underwood the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, USA Thunder's Sherman Underwood got a free kick in the 34th minute. After 35 minutes, Oren Cooley made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Keenan Barber to make the kick off. Blake Waite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Keenan Barber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 79th match minute, USA Thunder was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dominique Seals to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 81 minutes, Blake Waite successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Blake Waite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Keenan Barber in the 83rd minute of the match.
