Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Johnson Whatley stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felipe Guillory's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. After taking down the ball on Winchester FC's corner Kasey Madsen fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ramiro Doud quite easily take care of the ball. After some careless play in the Palo Alto defense, Kasey Madsen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ramiro Doud. The Palo Alto fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ramiro Doud should have stopped the shot. Felipe Guillory fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnson Whatley having to interfere. After having played for 83 minutes, Quentin Strickland managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palo Alto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Quentin Strickland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Loren Caudill hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. In the 85th minute Quentin Strickland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnson Whatley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Guillory in the 86th minute of play forced Winchester FC's goalkeeper Johnson Whatley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felipe Guillory sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 93rd minute, Quentin Strickland got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Winchester FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
