The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 13th minute Mason Minton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Bernier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Quazz Imperials's goal looked a bit too open when Mason Minton came free, but Joel Bernier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Mason Minton notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Quazz Imperials's Joel Bernier. Joel Bernier was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Grand Forks AFC's Mason Minton in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ed McCloud received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Joel Bernier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mason Minton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ed McCloud in the 43rd minute of play forced Quazz Imperials's goalkeeper Joel Bernier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 45 minutes, Ed McCloud managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grand Forks AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ed McCloud was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ed McCloud stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Mason Minton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Bernier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 53 minutes into the match, Quazz Imperials's goal looked a bit too open when Ed McCloud came free, but Joel Bernier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ed McCloud struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Joel Bernier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grand Forks AFC. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Quazz Imperials's goalkeeper Joel Bernier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ed McCloud fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Bernier having to interfere. A collision led to Quazz Imperials getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Scottie Milton hit a great ball. Ed McCloud received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Joel Bernier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 85 minutes, Pete Loyd mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Quazz Imperials and the Grand Forks AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Pete Loyd hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Dan Cuevas missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 87 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Joel Bernier right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mason Minton got free with Joel Bernier in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Carson Wilhelm stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ezra Schmitt's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Ed McCloud fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Bernier having to interfere. Joel Bernier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ed McCloud, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Ezra Schmitt struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Carson Wilhelm didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Quazz Imperials. The Quazz Imperials fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Grand Forks AFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
