When Jospeh Isaac fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River Poker's protests and gave Jospeh Isaac a yellow card for diving instead. In the 11th match minute, River Poker was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jospeh Isaac to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Dallas Elmore managed to get in a good position for a shot. C. A. Ituzaingó's supporters rose to their feet, but Dallas Elmore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Garth Gomez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gary Sanderson charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gary Sanderson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of C. A. Ituzaingó booed when River Poker was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gary Sanderson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute Jonah Crozier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harry Walden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jonah Crozier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucien Kerns struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Garth Gomez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C. A. Ituzaingó. Abdul Todd kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Garth Gomez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dallas Elmore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. C. A. Ituzaingó's Doug Farrar was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Garth Gomez in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When C. A. Ituzaingó's Dallas Elmore in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye River Poker's goalie prevented a goal. 45 minutes into the game, Ervin McAllister was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C. A. Ituzaingó's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave River Poker the free kick. In the 45th minute, Ervin McAllister hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience held their breath when Basil Shipley in the 47th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Harry Walden's left hand side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jonah Crozier made a kick off. When Jonah Crozier came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the River Poker fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonah Crozier couldn't finish the play. 61 minutes into the match, C. A. Ituzaingó's Dallas Elmore sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Garth Gomez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gary Sanderson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Harry Walden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonah Crozier in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Harry Walden saved C. A. Ituzaingó from getting behind. Dallas Elmore sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jarvis Katz's late challenge caught a C. A. Ituzaingó's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jarvis Katz helped the player get up and apologised. In the 84th minute, Jarvis Katz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 85 minutes into the match, C. A. Ituzaingó's Doug Farrar broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 87th minute Lucien Kerns shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garth Gomez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
