Pine Island AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brendon Ponce was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Derrick Whitmore stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. James Zamora showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Todd Blanco in the 67th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the match, Pine Island AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Derrick Whitmore came free, but James Zamora reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but James Zamora showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Darius Camp fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jerseyville's protests and gave Darius Camp a yellow card for diving instead. Darius Camp kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Sherman Barnes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Brendon Ponce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pine Island AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Brendon Ponce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hector Soto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sherman Barnes was extremely unlucky when he, in the 92nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 96 minutes into the match, Brendon Ponce dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hector Soto, 1-3. Pine Island AFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
