The goalkeeper, Jeremiah Gunn, was totally fooled by Wyckoff Torpedoes's Al Bowers, who 9 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Pascal Kennedy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremiah Gunn having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Johnnie Ulrich had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Al Bowers charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Al Bowers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Wyckoff Torpedoes fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! 30 minutes into the match, Stanton Roy notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Wyckoff Torpedoes's Brendon Reeder. Brendon Reeder was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rickie Grady struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Jeremiah Gunn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wyckoff Torpedoes. In the 40th match minute, Wyckoff Torpedoes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franklin Padilla to maneuver through the defense. Jeremiah Gunn was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Woody Velasco. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stanton Roy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Woody Velasco kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Wyckoff Torpedoes's zone, Stanton Roy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brendon Reeder came out of the goal and Stanton Roy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Highland Acres's Jeremiah Gunn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rickie Grady in the 61st minute of play. Dwayne Koenig kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. When Pascal Kennedy came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Wyckoff Torpedoes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pascal Kennedy couldn't finish the play. If Rickie Grady had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wyckoff Torpedoes's Pascal Kennedy got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jeremiah Gunn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rickie Grady, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Pascal Kennedy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jeremiah Gunn was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Rickie Grady fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremiah Gunn having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Rickie Grady got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 86th minute, Kraig Espinosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Al Bowers was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 87th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Jeremiah Gunn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rickie Grady in the 90th minute of the match. Brendon Reeder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stanton Roy in the 92nd minute of the match. Jeremiah Gunn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pascal Kennedy, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
