After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Merrill Devine managed to get in a good position for a shot. Virginia Gardens AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Merrill Devine was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Merrill Devine couldn't finish the play. Antony Leal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Royce Blount in the 59th minute of the match. Erik Pratt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leif Armenta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. When Erik Pratt came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Virginia Gardens AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erik Pratt couldn't finish the play. Lanny Uhl charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lanny Uhl the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Virginia Gardens AFC booed when Radical Centrist Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lanny Uhl didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Virginia Gardens AFC's goalkeeper Antony Leal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 75 minutes into the match, Virginia Gardens AFC's Merrill Devine sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leif Armenta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Virginia Gardens AFC's Erik Pratt got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 80th minute, Norbert Rangel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erik Pratt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leif Armenta having to interfere. Royce Blount sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Royce Blount had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
