Spectators: 5150 (Terracing: 4050, Seating: 1050, VIP seats: 50) Carrizo Springs's Donald Pope started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Solomon Campos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lloyd Reaves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Delaney having to interfere. In the 9thth minute of the game Solomon Campos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Carrizo Springs's Francisco Delaney was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Solomon Camposs short, quick shot in the 10thth minute got Francisco Delaney to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Solomon Campos let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 13th minute shot 1-0 at rihgt post. In the 16th minute, Solomon Campos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Solomon Campos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Francisco Delaney having to make a save. After 23 played minutes Carrizo Springs got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Shearer. Garry Dale hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute, Duke Zapata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Santa Clarita Currents's Rolland Sanders played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Aldrich in the 37th minute of play. Rolland Sanders showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donald Pope, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. With his leg Francisco Delaney managed to avoid a goal in the 39thth minute, when Santa Clarita Currents's Solomon Campos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Solomon Campos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Francisco Delaney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute of the match Spencer Clark shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Francisco Delaney showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Solomon Campos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Francisco Delaney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Solomon Campos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Santa Clarita Currents's Rolland Sanders got control of the ball when Garry Dale tried to sneak it across the goal line. Donald Pope might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rolland Sanders. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Donald Pope ran back to his position shaking his head. If Garry Dale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Garry Dale kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rolland Sanders. That made the score 1-1 in the 62 minute of play. Jaime Hodge hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Emanuel Aldrich's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 69thth minute, Rolland Sanders skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Santa Clarita Currents's Rolland Sanders proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Santa Clarita Currents from getting a goal against them. Josh Schroeder kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Donald Pope struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Rolland Sanders didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carrizo Springs. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donald Pope in the 91st minute of play forced Santa Clarita Currents's goalkeeper Rolland Sanders to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Santa Clarita Currents defense, Emanuel Aldrich kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolland Sanders. The Santa Clarita Currents fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolland Sanders should have stopped the shot.
