Pelicans SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Springfield Zips the free kick. A collision led to Pelicans SC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Reuben Rasmussen hit a great ball. When Curt Dorsey came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Pelicans SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Curt Dorsey couldn't finish the play. Curt Dwyer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilfred Hills having to interfere. Pelicans SC's Curt Dorsey got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Springfield Zips's zone, Curt Dwyer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilfred Hills came out of the goal and Curt Dwyer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Devin Conley's late challenge caught a Springfield Zips's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Devin Conley helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Springfield Zips booed when Pelicans SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Devin Conley didn't get a good kick on the ball. Curt Dwyer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Wilfred Hills tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Curt Dwyer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilfred Hills having to interfere. If Curt Dorsey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hal Carroll stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Springfield Zips's goal looked a bit too open when Curt Dorsey came free, but Wilfred Hills reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 56 minutes, Curt Dwyer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pelicans SC and the Springfield Zips players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Curt Dorsey in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilfred Hills saved Springfield Zips from getting behind. In the 58th minute, Devin Conley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Curt Dorsey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cruz Spencer charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cruz Spencer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 62nd minute, Cruz Spencer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Curt Dorsey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Curt Dwyer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pelicans SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Curt Dwyer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilfred Hills breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 83rd match minute, Springfield Zips was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cruz Spencer to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute, Edmund Cruz sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Springfield Zips's Wilfred Hills didn't even have to move. Pelicans SC's Curt Dorsey was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 90th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After 93 minutes of play Pelicans SC's Reuben Rasmussen was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground.
