In the 36th minute, Lincoln Root reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dallas Grove. The goal made the score 2-2. The referee felt a red card was in order, 41 minutes into the game, when Perry Dodge put in a rough tackle. The supporters of Thousand Oaks booed when Somerset was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Perry Dodge didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Fuller in the 45th minute of play forced Somerset's goalkeeper Alfred Russo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
