In the 11th minute Rodolfo Fuller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfred Russo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dallas Grove came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Somerset's Denver Jones. But to his dismay, Denver Jones quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 19 minutes into the game, Denver Jones was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Somerset's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Thousand Oaks the free kick. Mitch Akers kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lincoln Root in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dallas Grove prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Thousand Oaks's Richard Merchant quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Nathan Muniz, made in the 36th minute of the game. 38 minutes into the match, Thousand Oaks's goal looked a bit too open when Lincoln Root came free, but Dallas Grove reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lincoln Root in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dallas Grove prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alfred Russo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Graig Estrada, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The wind increased when Lincoln Root made the kick off in the second half. Thousand Oaks's Dallas Grove proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Thousand Oaks from getting a goal against them. In the 55th minute, Somerset's Casper Epps ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dallas Grove. Dallas Grove yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Casper Epps fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dallas Grove having to interfere. Dallas Grove made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Lincoln Root sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Thousand Oaks getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Mitch Akers hit a great ball. Lincoln Root who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 64thth minute tested the skills of Dallas Grove when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Lincoln Root's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dallas Grove firmly grabbed it by the left post. 71 minutes into the game, Mitch Akers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Joshua Dugan's late challenge caught a Somerset's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Somerset's Alfred Russo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joshua Dugan in the 79th minute of play. Dallas Grove made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Lincoln Root sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Thousand Oaks's Dallas Grove got control of the ball when Lincoln Root tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 91st minute, Weldon Minor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Somerset walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
