The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. ROCHES's Sid Haskins proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save ROCHES from getting a goal against them. Bo Gallagher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carson Marrero in the 13th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Douglas Ibarra in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bo Gallagher saved Valparaiso C.F. from getting behind. Jerold Jarvis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Sid Haskins made a huge save. Raymundo Chan kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Sid Haskins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karl Rowley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sid Haskins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luther Wolfe in the 26th minute of play. The supporters of Valparaiso C.F. booed when ROCHES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Cote didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmund Mattson kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. If Carson Marrero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Luther Wolfe came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Valparaiso C.F. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luther Wolfe couldn't finish the play. After having played for 47 minutes, Carson Marrero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ROCHES's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carson Marrero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carson Marrero to make the kick off. Jerold Jarvis spun around in front of the goal 53 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of ROCHES's goal. 55 minutes into the match, Valparaiso C.F.'s goalkeeper Bo Gallagher had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Douglas Ibarra. Through an outstanding action, after 57 minutes, Bo Gallagher successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jerold Jarvis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sid Haskins having to make a save. Karl Rowley kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. With his leg Bo Gallagher managed to avoid a goal in the 69thth minute, when ROCHES's Douglas Ibarra fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Douglas Ibarra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carson Marrero in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bo Gallagher saved Valparaiso C.F. from getting behind. Carson Marrero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 82 minutes into the game, ROCHES's Carson Marrero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bo Gallagher made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Carson Marrero kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Abraham Houston hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute, Edmund Mattson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carson Marrero struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Bo Gallagher didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ROCHES. Sid Haskins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerold Jarvis in the 96th minute of play. The ROCHES supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing ROCHES would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
