Adolfo Paul didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jeffrey Myers went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of Jim Thorpe United booed when Otsego City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Del Jennings didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tracey McClelland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Winford Chandler having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Jim Thorpe United's zone, Gregorio Avila stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Winford Chandler came out of the goal and Gregorio Avila tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tracey McClelland was the one to do the kick off. Winford Chandler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tracey McClelland in the 51st minute of the match. Jeffrey Myers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Michael Fairchild charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Michael Fairchild the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Otsego City players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Jim Thorpe United.
