Spectators: 7709 (Terracing: 5783, Seating: 1773, VIP seats: 153) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Logan Stockton kicked off to start the match. Wellston AFC's Cory Dudley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jared Cody in the 3rd minute of play. Jared Cody fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cory Dudley having to interfere. In the 6th minute, Jared Cody got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cory Dudley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Logan Stockton in the 12th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Elkhorn's goalkeeper Felipe Coronado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Whitney Kendrick. In the 17th minute Logan Stockton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cory Dudley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Logan Stockton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Elkhorn's goalkeeper Felipe Coronado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 33 minutes into the game, Foster Ledbetter was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wellston AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Elkhorn the free kick. In the 33rd minute, Foster Ledbetter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Logan Stockton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Jared Cody had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ross Randolph fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felipe Coronado having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Elkhorn's goalkeeper Felipe Coronado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Whitney Kendrick. Logan Stockton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cory Dudley having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ross Randolph to make the kick off. Lyle Mosher kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 56th match minute, Wellston AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Foster Ledbetter to maneuver through the defense. 63 minutes into the match, Wellston AFC's Whitney Kendrick sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Felipe Coronado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dominic Benitez charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dominic Benitez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 66th minute, Dominic Benitez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gabriel Mallory missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 68 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Felipe Coronado right hand side. A collision led to Elkhorn getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. George Benitez hit a great ball. After having played for 76 minutes, Jared Cody managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elkhorn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jared Cody was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Wellston AFC's zone, Logan Stockton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cory Dudley came out of the goal and Logan Stockton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 87 minutes Wellston AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Junior Curran who took care of the corner kick. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Wellston AFC's goalkeeper Cory Dudley, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 91 minutes of play, Wellston AFC's Ross Randolph made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Felipe Coronado was left in no man's land by his defense there!
