The audience thought a goal was coming when Bart Elder got free with Myles Boyce in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Benito Dickens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reggie Tharp in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Yong Coffman saved Cornville from getting behind. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 30th minute of the game. One of Cornville:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of pandalove:s goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reggie Tharp in the 34th minute of play forced Cornville's goalkeeper Yong Coffman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 35 minutes, Sol Guthrie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. pandalove's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sol Guthrie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. pandalove's Reggie Tharp got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
