Monty Sheldon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Casper Hogan in the 28th minute of the match. After 29 minutes of play, Huracan's Marcus Bruner made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Casper Hogan might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Monty Sheldon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 76thth minute of the game Shelton Stratton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Glen Carbon's Waldo Aviles was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Glen Carbon's Silas Coyle slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Monty Sheldon. That made the score 1-1 after 78 minutes of play. After some careless play in the Glen Carbon defense, Shelton Stratton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Waldo Aviles. The Glen Carbon fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Waldo Aviles should have stopped the shot. Casper Hogan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Monty Sheldon made a huge save. Shelton Stratton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Huracan's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
