Devon Guinn struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Ricky Rosa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jarrettsville. Ricky Rosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damon Grossman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 7th match minute, Capitol Hill Avalanche was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richard Yoder to maneuver through the defense. Devon Guinn struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Ricky Rosa came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Jarrettsville's Damon Grossman. But to his dismay, Damon Grossman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 18th minute, Devon Guinn left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jarrettsville fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. In the 25th minute, Jarrettsville's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Richard Yoder fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Richard Yoder came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Capitol Hill Avalanche fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Richard Yoder couldn't finish the play. Richard Yoder blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rob Childs having to make a save. When Morgan Coulter came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Jarrettsville fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Morgan Coulter couldn't finish the play. Ervin Shafer kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Morgan Coulter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Ricky Rosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Capitol Hill Avalanche's Ricky Rosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damon Grossman in the 36th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Yoder in the 37th minute of play forced Jarrettsville's goalkeeper Rob Childs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damon Grossman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricky Rosa having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Capitol Hill Avalanche's goal looked a bit too open when Damon Grossman came free, but Ricky Rosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Morgan Coulter kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Richard Yoder made a kick off. Ricky Rosa was a little too slow when Damon Grossman got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 0-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Damon Grossman got free with Ricky Rosa in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Damon Grossman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ricky Rosa having to make a save. Ricky Rosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Morgan Coulter in the 65th minute of the match. Capitol Hill Avalanche's Trent Simms managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Anthony Fuller in the 68 minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Jarrettsville's Damon Grossman slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ricky Rosa. That made the score 0-5 after 72 minutes of play. Rob Childs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Yoder in the 77th minute of play. If Richard Yoder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Freddy Hines kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Richard Yoder in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rob Childs prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 85 minutes into the game, Rigoberto Epperson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ricky Rosa. Rigoberto Epperson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. After some careless play in the Capitol Hill Avalanche defense, Damon Grossman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricky Rosa. The Capitol Hill Avalanche fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricky Rosa should have stopped the shot. Devon Guinn's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricky Rosa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. If Devon Guinn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jarrettsville played a much better game than Capitol Hill Avalanche and deserved their victory. The Capitol Hill Avalanche players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
