Hayward's Van Goodrich proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Hayward from getting a goal against them. 33 minutes into the match, Hayward's goalkeeper Van Goodrich had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Norman Bergman. With a little luck, Hayward's Van Goodrich got control of the ball when Norman Bergman tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 38th minute Gustavo Saldana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnathon Gallo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Johnathon Gallo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustavo Saldana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Colin Milligan struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Johnathon Gallo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hayward.
