The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 9th minute, The Legends's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Diego Ackerman fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Jon Shultz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fletcher Herrington in the 15th minute of play. After 19 played minutes Lodhi FC got a freekick which was hit by Peter Sizemore. Lodhi FC's Jon Shultz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fletcher Herrington in the 28th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Lodhi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fletcher Herrington came free, but Jon Shultz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rickey Coronado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon Shultz having to interfere. In the 41stth minute of the game Fletcher Herrington who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lodhi FC's Jon Shultz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

If Peter Sizemore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Ackerman in the 55th minute of play forced The Legends's goalkeeper Del Krause to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jon Shultz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fletcher Herrington in the 58th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Rickey Coronado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Lodhi FC's Peter Sizemore got a free kick in the 61st minute. Rickey Coronado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Jon Shultz managed to avoid a goal in the 66thth minute, when The Legends's Rickey Coronado fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 67th minute, Josiah Carney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in The Legends's zone, Wes Robison stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Del Krause came out of the goal and Wes Robison tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Del Krause took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wes Robison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75th minute, Fletcher Herrington fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Fletcher Herrington struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Jon Shultz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Legends. In the 81st minute, The Legends's Clark Winslow seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Clark Winslow the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of The Legends protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Clark Winslow had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 80th minute of the game. One of The Legends:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lodhi FC:s goal. Denis Keys shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. When Waldo Swenson fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lodhi FC's protests and gave Waldo Swenson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 84th minute, Waldo Swenson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 86 minutes into the match, Lodhi FC's goalkeeper Jon Shultz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rickey Coronado. When Peter Sizemore fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lodhi FC's protests and gave Peter Sizemore a yellow card for diving instead. Peter Sizemore hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Rickey Coronado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joesph Sneed took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jon Shultz. Jon Shultz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. The Legends had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
