Ovidio Birjaio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernest McCall, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 7 played minutes Huntersville got a freekick which was hit by Ernest McCall. In the 10th minute of the match, J.P. Snyder tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ovidio Birjaio saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Rashad Andrews hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Ovidio Birjaio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Randall Paulson in the 11th minute. Randall Paulson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ovidio Birjaio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. The supporters of Huntersville booed when Golden Striker FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brendan Oliver didn't get a good kick on the ball. Golden Striker FC's Ovidio Birjaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by J.P. Snyder in the 17th minute of play. Ovidio Birjaio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Randall Paulson in the 21st minute. Brendan Oliver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Rocco Mahoney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 26 minutes, J.P. Snyder made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Golden Striker FC's Ovidio Birjaio tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Brendan Oliver managed to get in a good position for a shot. Golden Striker FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Brendan Oliver was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rocco Mahoney breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 32 played minutes Golden Striker FC got a freekick which was hit by Junior Boston. Randall Paulson's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Ovidio Birjaio skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The long shot by Rosario Harman in the 40th minute really tested Ovidio Birjaio's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a rather tough play, Golden Striker FC's Fletcher Moreland got a free kick in the 44th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Brendan Oliver to make the kick off. If Brendan Oliver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rocco Mahoney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brendan Oliver in the 60th minute of play. Ovidio Birjaio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Randall Paulson, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. When the match clock showed 64 minutes, the score became 2-0 when J.P. Snyder sped through Golden Striker FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ovidio Birjaio. When the match clock showed 67 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Randall Paulson sped through Golden Striker FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ovidio Birjaio. A collision led to Huntersville getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Daryl Deering hit a great ball. After 76 minutes, Randall Paulson made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Golden Striker FC's Ovidio Birjaio tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Golden Striker FC's Junior Boston got a free kick in the 84th minute. Ovidio Birjaio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from J.P. Snyder in the 86th minute of play. In the 91st minute, Junior Boston hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ovidio Birjaio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from J.P. Snyder in the 92nd minute of play. J.P. Snyder struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Ovidio Birjaio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Huntersville. J.P. Snyder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ovidio Birjaio having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Huntersville fully deserved thier win.
