Tod Lockwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norbert Cardwell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brant Merritt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Norbert Cardwell's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tod Lockwood read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. After 14 played minutes Octavio Orozco rounded Azzurri's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. In the 22nd minute, Warren Borden got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Norbert Cardwell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Tod Lockwood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Binghamton AFC's Damien Cadena got a free kick in the 31st minute. When Damien Cadena fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Binghamton AFC's protests and gave Damien Cadena a yellow card for diving instead. Damien Cadena kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Binghamton AFC's zone, Brant Merritt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tod Lockwood came out of the goal and Brant Merritt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Norbert Cardwell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tod Lockwood having to interfere. Tod Lockwood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brant Merritt in the 39th minute of play. Binghamton AFC's Tod Lockwood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norbert Cardwell in the 41st minute of play. After some careless play in the Binghamton AFC defense, Norbert Cardwell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tod Lockwood. The Binghamton AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tod Lockwood should have stopped the shot.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Octavio Orozco to make the kick off. The Azzurri fans' excitement grew in the 54th match minute when Azzurri's Brant Merritt looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Brant Merritt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tod Lockwood having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Azzurri's Tod Lockwood threw himself towards the right post 60 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Norbert Cardwell, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 63rd minute, Brant Merritt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Azzurri fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Norbert Cardwell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Tod Lockwood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Binghamton AFC's Tod Lockwood got control of the ball when Brant Merritt tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 71st minute, Brant Merritt reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tod Lockwood. The goal made the score 1-4. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Binghamton AFC's goalkeeper Tod Lockwood, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tod Lockwood came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Azzurri's Brant Merritt. But to his dismay, Brant Merritt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. Norbert Cardwell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tod Lockwood having to interfere. A collision led to Binghamton AFC getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Sherman Swartz hit a great ball. The Binghamton AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Azzurri were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
