Darell Ernst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norbert Cardwell, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 16th minute Norbert Cardwell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darell Ernst saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brant Merritt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 19 minutes into the game, Azzurri's Norbert Cardwell nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Darell Ernst made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. A collision led to Azzurri getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Jarod Barnhart hit a great ball. With a little luck, Azzurri's Tad Stiles got control of the ball when Mohammed Squires tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Azzurri's zone, Korey Peralta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tad Stiles came out of the goal and Korey Peralta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mohammed Squires got free with Tad Stiles in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Brant Merritt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Darell Ernst tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 31 played minutes Bella Vista AFC got a freekick which was hit by Diego Cannon. Ed Shea took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 32nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Darell Ernst. Bella Vista AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Brant Merritt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Darell Ernst made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norbert Cardwell in the 42nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Bella Vista AFC's Diego Cannon got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Norbert Cardwell in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Darell Ernst prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Korey Peralta to make the kick off. Bella Vista AFC's Darell Ernst proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Bella Vista AFC from getting a goal against them. In the 55th minute Norbert Cardwell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darell Ernst saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Darell Ernst made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norbert Cardwell in the 57th minute of play. Azzurri's Norbert Cardwell got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 81 played minutes Azzurri got a freekick which was hit by Enrique Diamond. 84 minutes into the match, Norbert Cardwell notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Bella Vista AFC's Darell Ernst. Darell Ernst was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Darell Ernst made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Brant Merritt sent off a good shot on target. Norbert Cardwell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Darell Ernst tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd match minute, Bella Vista AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johnny Jarrell to maneuver through the defense. 97 minutes into the match, Azzurri's goal looked a bit too open when Mohammed Squires came free, but Tad Stiles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
